WebSep 2, 2008 · Well, I couldn't resist - I just had to try to swap the bolt/carrier from my Norinco MAK-90 into my Saiga, but it wouldn't cycle or seat correctly. I never did try to fire it that way, for fear of jacking it up badly. I kind of decided from that short experience that the bolt carrier for the Saiga isn't interchangeable with other AKs.
