Hudson clutch fluid wet clutch mix
Web15 jul. 2003 · I just aquired a 1949 Hudson Commodore. The clutch chatters and I am thinking since it has a wet clutch, it probably needs fluid or fluid changed. The original shop manual says use hudson clutch fluid. Does anyone know what this fluid would corrospond to in whats available today? Could use your help. Wet clutches are better operating and longer lasting clutches than dry ones, which are meant for use on track/race bikes, where theres no "stop and go" traffic, not for street bikes. Wet clutches can be better modulated for smoother power delivery, ie are not "grabby", and run quieter too.

Wrap the clutch fluid reservoir with a shop towel. Secure with masking tape. Connect extraction hose to bleeder. Remove reservoir cover. Diaphragm plate is under cover. Actually Milo, it does. Vitamol V10 is a 10W hydraulic oil which is what the bike calls for, a mineral based 10W hydraulic oil.
